Highlights and Happenings

November 15, 2018

  • Our GRANDPARENTS AND SPECIAL FRIENDS MORNING was a success. It was so nice getting talk to the special people in the lives of our students. It meant so much to the kids to be able to show off their school to the ones they love. It was also very nice to have you all visit the book fair. Thank you to Mrs. Gibbons, Mrs. Sutton, Mrs. Vowell and all the organizers.

  • A huge thank you to Miss Bernock and all the teachers for pulling together our Thanksgiving Play. The students did a marvelous job. Also, a shout out to our phenomenal Home-and-School for the Thanksgiving Dinner. What an outstanding celebration of family and giving thanks.

  • Thank you to Mrs. Ybarra for putting up the CHRISTMAS GIVING TREES. I know the teachers will greatly appreciate any gift they will receive.

  • The 8th GRADE LIVING SAINT MUSEUM was a huge hit. The reports from teachers and students was it was a job well done. Great job Mrs. Alvizo and 8th grade.

  • GOOD LUCK TO BENGI GONZALES AND STEVIE PAGEL. These two fine football players will be playing in the Catholic Bowl this Saturday at 4:00PM at Bishop Lynch. Come out and support our Bruin athletes.

  • THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY will be a weeklong celebration this year. We will not have school the week of November 19. We will see everyone on Monday, November 26. ENJOY

  • A reminder from the Parish.  The Parishioner rate is only available for those families who: (1) are Catholic; (2) participate in the sacramental life of the church; (3) have children receive sacramental preparation and the sacraments; (4) are registered as members of St. Bernard’s through the Church office; and (5) support the parish community spiritually and financially with a minimum weekly donation of $20. • This is a reminder that you may now apply for tuition assistance through FACTS.

All of the funds available through the Diocese have been combined under a new name called The Halo Initiative.  They require you to have a completed FACTS application filled out and completed in order to receive any funds. These dates are firm so apply early.  If you need any help with the application please call Guille Luna at the school office.

  • The ITBS/CoGAT results for your child will be sent home later today. Please see the attached letter for an overview and explanation on how we will use these results to better our students and school.
